Default 88/89 and 90/91 crx front pads different?

I see different part numbers, but why would the brake pads be different?

check the calipers. if the calipers are the same part numbers than the pads are just thicker most likely. if you look at the part numbers for the differenct crx models they are different too. also, if the crx is a 90-91 si then it has the rear discs and that pretty much makes the front pads and rotors different from a rear drum vehicle. i have never personally compared them, but my dx has different brakes pads and rotors on the front then a 90 si does. i believe it has something to do with the stopping ability of a vehicle with rear disc vs rear drum.
