Swap distributors. Although are you sure both were Si's? Cause I could have SWORN ALL Si 88-91 Distributors were the same??

I have a si distributor that has 7 wires but the harness in the car has 5 that plug up. The distributor has has a round plug but the wiring harness has square.
Sounds to me like either 2 things the 88"Si" isnt an Si or you have the wrong engine harness. There are 2 plugs on an Si distributor one round with 7 wires and another round one with 2 wires.
When we got the car it had a d16a1 dohc motor in it. That motor was blown up so i put a si motor out of a 91 crx. The harness from the si motor didnt plug up to the wiring harness on the firewall.

You always match the engine harness to the car NOT the motor and that still doesnt make any sense cause the dohc a1 motor should still have the same distributor plugs.

Well then my only suggestion is to get a plug that fits the Si distributor and then depin the sqare plug into the proper slots onto the round plug. OR if you still have the A1 distributor depin the square plug on there and pin it into the Si distributor in place of the round plug.
