I have a b16 in my ef and i noticed the iacv stays on and is making a humming noise. It also made a loud almost quacking noise when i fired up my car then it wouldnt start. N e 1 ever have this problem?

 

Have you tried unplugging it to make sure that is where the noise is coming from?
maybe a wiring problem could be the cause.

you can try cleaning the IACV, look through the faq for the write up on that. (simple green or brake cleaner)

 

yes well, i did clean it with brake cleaner. I also unplugged it and the noise stopped. I also tested it with a plug with two wires running right to the battery and it makes a horn type noise.

 

Makes noise? That seem pretty strange I have never heard one make noise maybe its on its way out? I would look into getting a new one.
