You're certainly right to ask for details before you get into it. Some sponsorships are really purchases at discounts that would be available to regular people with connections.
Better sponsorships are deeply discounted, at cost purchases that might require your presence at events to be determined by the company.
What I call a "real" sponsor is someone who believes in you enough to give you what you need, someone who has the resources to investigate you ahead of time and who believes in you and your activities enough that he understands that you will always represent him well, to the right people, at the right time, and that you will do it articulately and without causing offence or controversy in the community.
You can understand that "real" sponsorships are generally just not available to young people. I have been able to get full sponsorships for many young racers in the past, up to the tune of about $20K/ea per year, but these are genuinely good racers who represent themselves and the community very effectively.

basicly you pay like 100 bucks to sign up and you get dealer cost on parts. so if they give you a 5,000 sponsorship they pay the difference between dealer cost and retail.
there brands suck and its not worth you time so dont even waste your money.
