I just built my H22 and when I cranked it I got no oil pressure, I primed the oil pump and tried it again and nothing, also I started it for a few seconds and yet again no luck. Im thinking when I primed it the oil just fell right back into the pan. So this is why the priming didnt work. Im really stuck here and I'm looking for some good input.
I did a oil pump on a F series the other day, I cranked it forever with no oil pressure. I started it and still no oil pressure. Cranked it again for a while and it eventually got primed, it took forever but after that it was fine. Keep cranking?

I was told to check the oil gally, it may not be plugged. Would this cause my problem and if so what should I be looking for? (location? pictures?) anything would help.

I cranked this thing for a couple mins. using 10-15 second intervals. The pickup, oil pan look good, no noises coming from the pump. What is the next thing I should do, keep cranking?

I tried to put oil through the hex bolt but it took the rest of the qt I had and it just seemed like it fell straight into the pan so that defeats the purpose, but I just took the oil pickup off and it seemed like the gasket wasn't getting a good seal. I RTV'd it up and im gonna check it tomorrow.

Ok here is an update. The RTV didn't solve the problem
, I filled a bottle with oil and submerged the pickup into the bottle. I cranked the engine for about 30 seconds and it didn't pull any oil. Is this a sign of a bad oil pump or something stupid im missing although it seems like I checked everything?

and you started and ran this engine with no oil on the journals?

your not getting what im asking. how long did you run it and crank it with out knowing that your engine wasn't getting oil?

Oh my bad, I first cranked it for about 1 min, then I started it for about 15 seconds. Now I have been randomly cranking on it for a good bit of time.
