Default Timing belt???

My timing belt broke today is there any chance no damage was done to the internals? I was driving at about 3000rpms when my engine started sounding funny and tach jumped? Anyone else had a similar thing happen i turned the cams individually and they seem fine but i know you cant just tell by that!

Yeah, i got away it once on a SOHC D15B7. It just shut off on the highway. I cranked it a bunch of times trying to start it whilst I coasted along to. There was no noise when it quit or anything, it quite literally just shut off. Anyway I put a new timing belt on it and it was fine. But thats the exception, not the rule.
