I bought and installed an OEM style Seibon carbon fiber hood a few weeks ago on my 4th gen H22A. I recently noticed that the under skeleton of the hood is rubbing against the valve cover in a few areas. I would expect this from a cheaper brand but not Seibon. I was just curious as to if anyone else had problems similar to this. Also would it be better to add washers to the hing, or should I raise the latch? Also I am running ESP polyurethane motor mounts, not sure if that would cause the engine to sit slightly higher or not.
Do you have another hood you can try in its place to see if it rubs too?I doubt it would be a mount issue. Never heard of this happening on a 4th gen b4.
I had the same problem on my 5th gen with a VIS hood. I'm trying to find some of that hood insulating foam to put on the underside. I think that might work....for a while.
Im running a seibon on my 4th gen with H22 and Innovative mounts. No rub issues that Im aware of. You might want to try rasing the latch a hair and maybe adding some small washers to the back. I would do both, not one or the other.

Sorry guys, I've been stuck in Baton Rouge, LA with no power so I haven't had time to reply. The factory hood fit perfectly with no problems. It does look like the front of the hood does sit a little low near the latch so I will raise it slightly and see if the rubbing continues.

that should take care of it, ive heard of random issues such as yours with any aftermarket hood oem or not. it so bizarre, but it happens. give it a try and let us know if it helped

Here's some pictures of the current hood latch height. have not done any adjusting yet, but do you think the hood latch height is the culprit?

Can someone please compare my hood gap to their factory hood so I don't have to put mine back on?
I will say that Seibon probably has very tight clearance in that area, my Seibon is a vented hood, and came with a undertray for blocking the vents, which rubbed on the valve cover on the H22 as well, but I have enough clearance without that tray in. Sucks since I need the tray for rain/ snow, but I lost it and can't find a new one.
I would say to raise your latch a bit though, it looks very close in the middle, and I would set it so the visible gap is the same from hood-headlights as hood-bumper center. If that doesn't cure it, maybe raise the back of the hood a tad with washers?
