***DOHCIVIC re-build thread***
As many know, I blew the motor in my hatch...
Well here is my rebuild thread...
This is how it started... http://www.importsnc.com/forum...42511
The block has been torn down and sent to... http://www.laskeyracing.com/shop/bseries.htm
The head will be sent there as well...
Mid october i will have more to add as far as laskey racing
Now as far as the hatch it self... I'm working it it day by day
Cleaning the engine bay
before...
degreaser

A pressure washer

AFTER...

Cleaned the tranny today... Cleaned under the fender wells also but I post pics after I repaint
Heres before cleaning...

in action photo...

And now clean...

What are your opinions on painting the tranny to help hide dirt
More to come as I work on it

IMO paint sucks, just clean it well and leave it be. Paint only flakes chips cracks and looks cheesy. OEM clean is the best look there is for engine bays

I agree. OE look is always best just maintain it by cleaning it with break parts cleaner.
Don't mess up all that work with paint.

its almost impossible to clean a tranny to 100% cleanliness. Theres always a little bit of discoloration, if you cant clean it, might as well sand it. Don't matter though, just throwing idea's your way.
Seeing it actually being done would be pretty cool.

put some axle seals in the tranny.

The citrus degreaser did ok but I used plain ole grease lightning to get it real clean... Thats what I used on the tranny and it cleaned it right up... I'm sure haveing a pressure washer help 50%

Best way to make it look as factory as possible without painting is aluminum brightener. I wasn't to sure if I should use it but it worked great the only reason im against painting engine or trans is you spray brake clean to anything or a cleaner that is to harsh and there goes your paint job but looks clean so far. and the cleaner is really hydrofluoric acid the chemical reaction it has is what makes the cleaner work 1 gallon pure can get you about 3 gallons super strong cleaners.

theres like a 600 page thread, but iunno if you wanna go through it. But, just relocate the battery with a kit. Relocate your fusebox, it unplugs from the underneath, you just gotta pop the cap off. reroute the lights under the fender, and i dont really wanna explain how to make a tuck harness, but it still looks nice if you just hide the plugs right behind the towers.
Ok... Well stupid me didn't take any before photos but if you have owned any civic you know where the wires are coming from and now you'll see where they can be hidden...
Here's the wiper motor wire tuck and brake fluild sensor... I did this last night

Heres what I have been doing today... Well today and through the past weeks...
This all the head light and horn, fans, and other plugs...

I hide all the wires across the bottom and hid everything the best I could...

Here's what I did with the clump wires coming out of the fire wall on the drivers side...

Finished product...

Now what to do with all of this...
These go to the ecu... I've pulled most of the tape and wire loom to get to what ever I can pulled inside the car...

I have used plenty of electrical tape and have bought new fender liners to help protect what I have done... I under stand the risk I have taken
