Default North Carolina, ITR?

Hey guys, for those of you that knew, my plans have changed. Instead of moving to Tampa, Fl. I talked my girlfriend into NC. I am moving at the end of September.

I just wanted to know what ITR owners were up there or near? Anyone know of some good shops? I will deffinately need a good paint shop.

Thanks.

Probably more ex-NC ITR owners on HT than current owners.

You can find owners in any of the major cities: Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Wilmington, or Asheville.

Damn, I've lived in NC for 30 years and I had to google Andrews

There used to be an active member in Hickory, but I'm guessing your closest "scene" is going to be Charlotte.

Andrews? Holy ****...I'm from there...nobody has ever even heard of it One bright side is that you're less than an hour from the Dragon, US Highway 129. Actually, the closest scene would probably be Asheville...it's roughly an hour and 45 minutes away.

Ugh, damn...an hour and 45 min to a car meet on sat night? lol. I am moving to no mans land. Where I live in florida, we have a car meet on wed and sat...religiously, and you can almost always find a few kids hanging out talking about cars in a parking lot on any other night.

Although one plus about NC...not much theft.

And rent is cheap...so more parts!!!

Pretty far. lol. But I'm sure I'll be able to find some honda guys there. If not I'll just have to be the only cool guy sitting on a mountain washing my Type R and Civic...all alone. haha.

So instead of moving to Tampa, you talked your girlfriend into moving to NC, but you're living with your parents.

The whole situation confuses me.

Ok, lol. I have wanted to live in NC for about 5 years now, me and a buddy took a vacation there in high school and loved it. My parents visited NC when I told them how great it was...Bought a house now.

My brother lives in Tampa, along with all my G/F friends. We were planning on getting a place together and both hate where we are now so decided Tampa, even though I wanted NC she didn't want to be that far from home. After a lot of discussion she finally came around to NC.

Now as for living with the parents, its just cheaper that way. Till we get a job and find out exactly where in NC we want to live, were just staying with them.

Lol, have you ever lived in south florida? It sucks. I hate it here. I was born in San Diego, but moved to NJ when I was 2, I lived most of my childhood there and loved it. Then we moved to Florida, life hasn't been the same. I like the woods and cold weather, big trees, lots of green. Florida is all brown and sunny and wayyyy to hot.

Guess it depends what you are into. The past two years going to Expo on the VA/NC border, just driving around was like...WTF I dont understand how people can live there lol. There is NOTHING once you get outside of town. And even if you go to a nearby "city" its just more of the same. And Im comparing this to where I live now which is nearly just as bad, in the sticks outside NYC. But at least here I can go to NYC, or Boston, or Jersey or Poconos or Catskills or Vermont etc all within a couple hours.

and NC gets stupid hot and humid too and there is no onshore breeze to cool you off.

Where are you looking at moving to?

Wilmington has a HUGE ITR concentration, not only are there a few on here but also a bunch of hidden ones tucked here and there. Go Fight Kill can attest to that.

Raleigh has a few, but I know Chris and Matt don't have theirs anymore, I'm not totally sure whats left. Last I knew my R is floating around there amongst various scumbags.

The triad area has casey's sick 98 (up for sale)

Charlotte has a bunch too.

Don't get complacent about not being a huge theft state, it still happens... Charlotte, Triad area and Wilmington have all been hit by it.... I live in fayetteville which left me pretty safe, I left mine in an apartment parking lot most of its life and it was fine.

NC is a great state though, you get a little bit of everything. The coastline/OBX for beach-like stuff and western NC for mountains/outdoor-ish stuff/snow activities in the winter. In the middle (where I am) isn't anything to call home about. Plus you have Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham/RTP/Chapel Hill (triange area) that is rapidly growing.

Oh sweet lord, that's in the middle of nowhere. I've never been to that particular part but I'm willing to bet you'll be smack in the middle of some breathtaking views.
