I'm not getting a straight answer from the dealerships in my area about if the Honda factory axle back sport exhaust will fit a 2008 civic si sedan or not. Honda.com shows it is available for both the coupe and sedan. Can someone tell me if it will bolt on and line up correctly on my sedan, given the back bumper is a different length than the coupe's.
Thanks
Thanks

the entire exhaust, or only the back portion? just curious. not necessarily asking about the honda optional exhaust; any aftermarket one too.

The entire exhaust is pretty much the same. The sedan just has a like 3" extension (I think that was the length) that makes it fit, but that extension is taken care of in the middle of the car, so the axle-back portion is identical, as SIV said already. Say you made a mistake and ordered an exhaust for a 2007 Si coupe, when you have a sedan. You could make that exhaust fit, by simply having an exhaust shop fab up an extension. I think that is the case with most (if not all) exhausts, aftermarket or not, for this car.

i agree. the axleback portion is identical part numbers(factory), the only difference in part numbers was the mid section of the exhaust. thats it. plus when you order an axle back they usually say 2/4dr. if they say its only for a coupe they are lying.

Nope...read this thread again. It's already been covered and this thread was dead for months before SImadness reopened it. I think the OP probably got the information he was looking for.
Part# 08F88-SNA-100
Application: 06-08 Civic 4dr Si
Part# 08F88-SVB-100
Application: 06-08 Civic 2dr Si
i think everyone knows the axlebacks are interchangeable, but there must be a difference in the tip because either one would have to have a different length of tip to match up with and sit flush with the hfp bumper depending on whether it's a coupe or sedan.

And nothing. Just pointing out why this thread was revived after being idle for 2 months despite the OP's answered inquiry.
I also thought the axle back's were completely interchangeable between the coupe and sedan chassis. But dc24me has a point with the tip length.

si sedan & coupe stock oem axleback/muffler, same part number 18307-SVB-A03. I got this off Bernardi's website.
for the hfp axleback i'm sure the two part numbers exist because honda wanted to have the muffler tip sit perfectly in the exhaust opening of the hfp rear skirt on both the coupe and sedan. if you have a sedan with the hfp rear skirt get the hfp sedan axle back, otherwise it might not look right. it might be different story without the rear skirt though.
look at an fa5 with the stock si exhaust and the hfp rear skirt. the tip looks really recessed compared to just a stock rear bumper.

I wasn't hating bro, calm down. I was just saying that the topic had been covered, and didn't need to be argued anymore. You pretty much made my words your own anyway.
I guess that would make sense. Good theory man!
It's probably like a half inch difference. The sedan's overall length is actually less than 3 inches longer than the coupe's and that 3 inch (or so) difference in the exhaust is made up in the extension that's been mentioned. So by the time the exhaust reaches the bumper, they (coupe and sedan exhausts) are pretty much identical. The tip thing is really the only thing that would explain the two part numbers.

so if the hfp sedan axleback is ~0.5" longer than the hfp coupe axleback the shorter hfp coupe axle back, the shorter coupe axleback might actually look alright on the sedan without the rear skirt.
who has an hfp exhaust and a measuring tape and is up to volunteer?

We need someone with an FA HFP Exhaust and someone with an FG HFP exhaust to both measure them!
