1991 Honda Civic Si, north suburbs of Chicago
I'm not on here as much as I would like to. Fastest way to get a hold of me is email jcarrington4 at gmail dot com
1991 Honda Civic Si
1.6L 5speed, Sunroof, 193000 miles
Good:
Previous owner replaced the following about 12k ago:
-Alternator
-Front/Rear shocks
-Timing belt, water pump, misc coolant hoses
-Distributor, cap, rotor, wires.
-Tires
-New front rotors
-New pads
-Wired for aftermarket amp
-Sony MiniDisc player, comes with CD changer, not installed though
-I changed the plugs, fresh oil day I bought it
-30 MPG
-Starts right up every, single, time.
-Clear title in hand.
Bad:
-Right rear wheel about out of alignment due to previous owner fishtailing into a curb, resulting in positive camber in the wheel. Where the rear arm mounts to the body has been pushed towards the center of the car about 1". Can be taken to a body shop and have it pulled out for $2-$300 as quoted by Carriage Werks in Mundelein. I never did it because it doesn,t bother me and I don't notice it while driving
-Needs front end alignment, $75 at NTB, again, doesn't bother me for as little as I drive the car.
-Front axles could be replaced because the boots are ripped
-No carpet or headliner. Left the sunroof cracked about 1/8" on accident for about 3 weeks, carpet and headliner got moldy, so I ripped it out. Both can be had from a junkyard for $50
-3rd gear car grind due to the synchros if you try and shift quickly, drive it regular and it's fine
-Blows a little oil from 5500-5600 RPMs to redline. Drive it normal, no smoke. It didn't do it when I first bought the car. I ran 1/2 can of SeaFoam in the gas tank and 1/2 in the intake manifold, changed the oil after about 20 miles, now it puts out a little cough in the upper RPMs. Guess SeaFoam does work a little lol.
I use this car to drive to and from work as well as run errands if I cant take my motorcycle. My commute is 11 miles round trip, I've put on around 500 miles since I have owned it. I don't drive it a whole lot being that I have 2 other cars and a bike, I would rather have the extra space and $$.
More pics to come, have about $1200 in it including the price of the car. Make me an offer.....
May be interested in a trade for another car/truck/suv, nothing domestic except for Chevy S10s or Ford Rangers
