Default Hondas wntd @ Form X Redline TA and NCCA Car Show NJMP 9/13-14

If you've been looking for one more track event this summer, or a reason for to run your first Time Trial/Road Course event, Formula X is having a Redline-sanctioned Time Attack Sept 13-14 at NJMP. Ditto for car show fiends - this is a 1X NCCA points event.

There has been no Street/Modified category Time Attack event yet with as much payout as this event. $1,500 to win Modified, $1,000 to win Street. $250 entry (Street, $400 Mod) gets two days on track and a shot at the cash and a trophy.

Entry list for both Street and Modified FWD are still pretty light right now (a few Civics/Scions so far), so all have a good chance at walking away with cash/trophies.

Also a NCCA points car show (with JDM, Honda classes and $3k in cash prizes) and Atlantic Championship/Star Mazda weekend, so theres a little something for everybody. $15 ticket to spectate, $25 for weekend, $40 for Sunday car show.

NJMP is 45 miles from Philly and 1.5 hr from D.C., 2 hrs from NYC.

Hope you guys can make it out there.

Press Release below:

For Immediate Release

The $13K Lap Dance
Record $13,000 in purse and contingency up for grabs in X Attack Time Attack

- Sanctioned by Redline Time Attack
- $13,000 purse/contingency largest ever
- Modified and Street categories
- FWD, RWD, and AWD classes
- Atlantic Championship and Star Mazda races

Millville, NJ – Run the quickest lap time and win up to $2,500. That is the simple challenge that competitors in the X Attack time attack will be charged with this Sept 13-14 at the Formula X event hosted by the all-new, world-class New Jersey Motorsports Park.

In total, over $13,000 has been offered to date for competitors – spread between two categories (Modified and Street per Redline Time Attack rules and regulations), with three classifications each (AWD, RWD, FWD).

Each Modified class (AWD, RWD, FWD) winner will take home a $1,500 category payout. Mazda then ups the ante with an additional $1,000 check for Mazda-based competitors who win their class. With limited spaces, two days of track time, and only a $400 registration fee – the competitor list is expected to fill very quickly.

The Street Category field is expected to be filled even faster. With a $250 registration fee, Street category competitors will have a shot at winning a $1,000 prize per class (AWD, RWD, FWD). Mazda sponsorship again bumps the potential haul to $2,000 per class winner should the winner be a Mazda-based competitor.

Besides a limited amount of entries, the other thing standing in the way to a big payout for competitors is NJMP’s challenging 14-turn, 2.25 mile Thunderbolt course - it’s a mint, newly paved track that is already being called the “monster of the northeast”.

In addition, spectators and participants will also be treated to front seat racing by the top national drivers in both the Atlantic Championship and Star Mazda Championship race series – two of the nation’s premier open wheel development series. Atlantic Championship race cars are considered the last step for developing racers before moving onto an Indy Car or even Formula One ride. The state-of-the-art carbon chassis Atlantics feature 2.3 L Mazda-Cosworth four-cylinder engines cranking out 300 naturally-aspirated horsepower. As another member of Mazda’s unparalleled Motorsports development ladder, the Star Mazda Championship also features Mazda motivation in their carbon chassis open wheel racers – in fact, the same 240 hp Renesis rotary engine found in the Mazda RX-8 sports car.

As well, a Formula X import and domestic car show will offer over four-dozen trophies up for grabs, as well as cash prizes totaling $3,000. NCCA points accreditation and sanctioning will mean that NCCA competitors will be able to score points toward year-end NCCA championships.

Located just 45 miles from Philadelphia, 45 miles from Atlantic City, NJ, and 161 miles from Washington, D.C., New Jersey Motorsports Park is the long awaited world class racing facility the northeast has been looking for. NJMP is comprised of two separate race courses, a go kart track, a Motorsports country club, and even trackside Motorsports villas. After a busy year in construction, NJMP officially opened in July of this year.

Spectator tickets for the event are already on sale at njmp.com with three-day passes at $25 and single day admission at $15. Kids under 12 are admitted for free. Purchase spectator admissions at http://www.njmp.com

Sunday only car show tickets will be available for $40 online as well as $45 at the gate on the day of the event. Register for Car Show at http://www.urbanracer.com/formulax

Due to limited space, Time Attack participants are asked to pre-register online as well. The X Attack Time Attack registration fee is $400 for Modified Categories and $250 for Street Categories. Register for Time Attack competition at http://www.urbanracer.com/formulax

This is a perfect opportunity for everyone who has thought about participating in a Time Attack event. This is at a premiere facility and we'll be sharing it with other very reputable and high level racing series. There are TONS of guys who Auto-X and Open Track their cars in the North East. Register for $250 for the weekend, which includes admission to the event. Have a blast driving your car and watching other racing all weekend long.

You won't have many other opportunities like this one any time soon!

Both Modified and Street FWD are wide open right now. Perfect opportunity for some of you quick Honda/Acura owners to come out and make a run at $1000 or $1500 cash payouts.

Also, you Honda Challenge guys need to know that H4-H2 cars are eligible for Modified Class so long as the vehicle shows up to our event SPEC to it's Honda Challenge class.

There's gotta be some quick Hondas in the area that can step into Street FWD this coming weekend. Same goes for Modified Class.

I was going to enter my ITR but it would be in modified and they require full fire suits, etc,..little tough on the safety rules in modified. So I'm entering the AWD class with my other car in street class.
