Lug nuts cost HOW MUCH?
So I went to my local Autozone to buy some lug nuts for the ITR, and they are now charging $3.27 each. Huh? I swear I bought some there a couple of years ago and they were $1.09 apiece. So they've tripled in price?
Also, they only had two in stock. They checked with some other stores and the other stores also only had two in stock. Huh? Wouldn't a normal stocking amount for lug nuts be at least 4-5, enough for a wheel?
So I bought the two, then headed over to the nearby Honda car dealer, figuring that for a few more bucks (assuming list price) I could get the other couple I needed, and be done with it. I knew most Honda/Acura models use the same lug nuts (part number 90304-SA5-013). So I went to the parts counter and they told me they list for $9.53 each. Huh? I thought they were ~$5 each? But they sold them to me for $6.57 each, closer to what I expected. Now I look up the price on internet websites like Delray Acura and San Leandro Honda and both show the list price as $6.40 or so, not $9.53. Don't know why the difference in list price from one dealer to another...

Interesting. I recently inquired my parts counter about some S2K CR lugs which are OEM in black and I believe I was also quoted in the $6 range per piece.

List Price
This price is the equivalent to the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price or MSRP.
Matrix Price
Matrix is a markup price from MSRP. The factory does not control what you sell your items at. So we often implement a Matrix Price on our front counter. Unfortunately, Matrix pricing often marks up lesser costing items higher than usual. Thus the $9.53. The dealerships that try to hide this from their customer will often refer to it as List price.
We employ the Matrix price at our front retail counters also. But we do not advertise it as List price to our consumer. It's just our price. BTW, we sell that part for $4.92 each for HTechers.

I double-checked the price on the Autozone website, and it showed the same $3.27 that I was charged in the store.
Remember, different Autozone stores in different parts of the country sometimes charge different prices for the same item.

You can try, but tire stores don't usually have lug nuts with the ball-shaped seat needed for Honda/Acura wheels.
