Default Instrument cluster won't light up on 98 Integra

I have a 98 Integra I put a new stereo in and when I got done the stereo works great but the dash lights would not come on. The idiot that had this car before me had a 20 amp fuse in the illumination slot so the fuse did not blow. It looked like it may have gotten hot because one side was bent a little and it did not look right. My question is what would burn up or where do I need to look first to find out what the problem is? I am going to check some more fuses but if this is not the problem what else can I do?

since that he had a 20 amp fuse in it, there might be too much votage on the harness and causing the melt, it happened to my ek before, what you could do is to rewire the harness and the light should come on
