i need help my starter is falling off.
i wanna thank you for checking this thread.
okay my problem is the starter for my 1990 honda civic is falling off.
i think i lost two of the bolts that holds my starter. for sure i know the
top/upper bolt is missing and the bottom i cant see.
i tried replacing the top bolt (size 10-35 i think) but the bolt wont stay and
the starter just hangs. i think the hole is stripped which is my worst fear bcuz
idk what to do.
please if anybody can help me or give me an idea for starter
that would be great. cuz school starts less than a week and i live
freaking far away and no one drives in my family.
thx agn.

Chances are the bolt is going to be a metric bolt...your best bet is to pull the remaining bolt off, and head to a local parts store and pick a couple up...just make sure they're grade 8.
Try it out, you'll be able to tell if it's stripped or not...

if it does happen to be stripped just put a slightly bigger bolt in just make sure its not to long it will work just fine. thats what i did on my 87 haha, of course my car is a rust bucket with 260k on the original engine, ghetto fixes are just fine, i dont know if youd want to do that to your car or not, just depends on how nice/new a trans you got.
any standard honda 14mm bolt that is around 1 1/2 inches would work fine maybe a little longer if stripped, just go to the dealer and it might cost 7 bucks a bolt but you will have the right one and it will be shiney gold lol. good luck
dealer told me that ill have to order it and itll be next tuesday which 1st day of school
for it to arrive. the car is still in good condition
with 176k ^____^ my neighbor whose a mechanic does side job we tried inserting bolts and it never stayed.
i thought this was gonna be an easy job for him, so far all fail he told me he has an equipment thatll make a new hole/thread so that we can insert a bolt that stay and fix the problem.
i can start the car btw, my friend use a wrench to hold the starter toward the engine, cuz ir not i hear metal to metal grind which sound expensive.
ill try to update and bump this thread thx to those who left advice.
