So, like the title says, I have a raw fuel smell inside my 91 da... But, here's the kicker... I only get the smell when a) decelerating or letting out of the throttle b) When coming to a complete stop c) when hitting bumps or any obstruction of any kind and c) sometimes while turning... I'm just trying to narrow down where the hell it's coming from. I need ideas, hints, or pointers of anykind as I have my 3 yr. old little girl with me most of the time and I'm pretty sure gas fumes are not good for a toddler... Any hints would be greatly appreciated. And, ps, i've replaced the plugs and the cap/rotor (possibly the rotor, don't remember right off hand)

 

Either a fuel leak or exhaust leak. Perhaps the fuel pump is faulty. Take a look at it.

same mekanism.. just running rich so check your timming?
do you have adjustable cam gears?

 

no adjustable timing gears... everything's stock man, cold air intake and cat back... it only happens at weird times though

 

check your injector resistor pack.. loose wires
top drivers side shock mount... any vacuum hose disconected?

 

there was a couple disconnected when i got it. I got them back to where they were supposed to be but still have the gas smell... It's fine until i do one of the things listed up top then it's like a damn cloud surrounds me in gas fumes...

 

follow the instructions on hood in order to connect the vacuum hoses the proper way.

 

so, i could do that, but, i have a carbon fiber hood... great bullsh*t huh...
