Default D15 With Z6 head?

ok, i am coming over from the nissan world. i just picked up a 92 del sol i would like to make my daily. i am rebuilding the d15 currently with new rings and bearings, but want a lil more go. my friend told me about the mini-me. i am watching a z6 head on ebay but i am wondering, What compression am i gonna be lookin at? Is their anything else complicated about this head swap? I did search and really didn't find much on the d15 with the vtec head. thanks!

you'll need the 92-95 si ecu(p28),a vtec solenoid and a few other things for the conversion goodluck

i have done some research already. i know i will need the vtec solenoid if it doesn't come on the head, p28 ecu. i have to run 2 wires i believe for the vtec and something with the knock sensor. and obviously valve cover and all. I think a better question would be what should i expect with doing this head swap? horsepower and compression wise.

It'll actually be for the VTEC solenoid and the VTEC pressure switch. The P28 doesn't require a knock sensor and neither the D15B7 (your stock motor) or the D16Z6 has one anyway.

theres a nice way to make someone drop a couple G's for 20 more HP

dude dont go b series with the rest of the groupies... stay single cam, just do it nice, and it will reward u in the end... just try to find a complete head off a Z6 "since its OBD-1 and you won't have to worry about finding parts.... and complete as in "vtec solenoid, dizzy, injectors, manifold, fuel rail, yada yada all attatched would be even better"... you'll need a new head gasket, and possibly new intake manifold gasket "i'd change it to be safe and its only like less than $10 from autozone"... and either a P08 or P28 will work fine... and as far as the wiring goes, just goto honda and tell'm you need 2 pins, for the ECU and ur total will come to about $.89 cents lol... From there its basic dude, just swap it on like the old one came off, run the vtec wires through ur firewall, connect the pins, plug'm into ur new ecu, make sure all coolant lines are attached, and ur good to go... Theres a writeup for a Y7/Y8 mini me on here which is super detailed, juse use that as ur outline and ur golden...!!

redef90si - I still have 3 of them. ca18det, ka24det and rb20det. All going for sale. Every homo in the world has a 240 now.. i have personally had my first one since 6 years ago . its a crappy fade now.

yea i am not going dohc... its honestly ALOT more money that i really don't wanna spend. Remember this will be a daily, i just want some merging power here and good gas milage. I will do my best to find a complete head/intake mani setup. If anyone has anything let me know!

revived from the dead!

ok i went to look at the car today. its actually a 1996 del sol with a d16y7 in it. It seems to have alot of valve train noise which is fine cuz i still wanna attempt the mini-me swap.

The car is obd2 so i am assuming the parts list would go as follows:

OBD2 Civic Ex ecu
y8 Head w/ solenoid
y8 intake mani
y8 head gasket
Stock studs/head bolts

Would i be able to use a z6 head with this swap?

what timing belt should i use? z6 or y8? is their anything else i would need for this swap? i plan on taking the middle layer out of the HG to bump up compression some. What kind of compression should i expect with the y7 bottom end?

I am asking all these questions again cuz i was under assumption the car was a 92 with a d15 but the engine code is def d16y7.

bare with me, i am still new to hondas!
