Can you say pie cuts?
This was in another thread around here recently. Apparently you can't bend Titanium, so this is the way you have to do it.
That being said, that's amazing patience and work. You should have posted a pic of the bike when it was done, easily the best looking Multi-strada I've ever seen

You can bend titanium. Either they didnt have the ability to or this was part of the overall look they were going for. Sick work though.
i think it was a little of all. you can bend it but the bends they needed right out of the port couldnt be done with just a couple of universal bends welded together and they finished it off with with the rest in pie cuts for the same look. but most if it i am sure it is just cause of the bends they needed arnt premade. hince the reason for custom exhaust

Can't bend titanium, who's giving out misleading information? There's certain alloys of titanium which is more of a memory metal that's hard to bend like 15-3-3-3 but you can bend it! Titanium just has a lot of spring back compared to most materials.
I do not have the patient to fit up and weld all those pie cuts, I'll be angry

Yeah, the dedication in this is pretty amazing. Cool to see something kinda different
BTW, how many hours you think this would take?

that looks like a prototype exhaust, lots of the race teams run pie cut exhaust before they ahve the shapes all worked out and get them bent... especially back in the 2-stroke days with expansion chambers..

This is my first post in this forum.
Wow, that is neat. Back in the day in Toronto, I saw a shop build a 1.8T header for a Rabbit using the same method. That takes time! The result is pretty when done right, as this clearly is.
Lots of neat projects around here. I look forward to contributing.

As amazing as it looks, has anyone done tests of manifolds/piping done with pie-cuts versus real mandrel bends?
I hate to rain on the parade, but all that pie-cuts is really hurting flow. It's cool to see a few pie cuts in very tight bend areas that are necessary, but doing it the entire way just to save on pre-mandrel bends just hurts flow. This is when form goes over function, in which we call rice

Yeah that's where I found the pictures. I hope no one got the wrong idea thinking this was my craftsmanship.
