Your 60' should be at least .10 quicker (which would net .2 on the top end). Did you play with air pressures at all?

I havn't dragged my S at all, but generally a rwd car on street tires should be in the 2.0-2.1 range if my mind isn't playing tricks on me. The s2000 is a hard car to launch without risking breaking parts though, so it's not a bad thing to take it a little easy off the line.

i had a few 2.2's but my best time came from that 2.3
i dropped the tire pressure to 20psi ... i thought i was lauching pretty good without murdering my clutch

Add the head, humidly and elevation up and that time is probably about right.

That's not bad (the 2.1 60'), but you can do better.

Driven properly, even without adjusting air pressure, you could probably snag a 1.9 60'. I did it on my old car (with 18" wheels)

That trap is low

I ran a 13.72 @ 99 with my bone stock MY03. I cut a 2.04 60' which made a huge diff, cuz when i cut a 2.3 I ran a 14.2. Work on you 60's and you should pull much better times.

1-2 mph...maybe you shift slow, idk but i went in my hatch 13.2 @104.5 2.1 60' and 5 mins later i went 13.1 @106 2.0 60'

also depends on the weather, shifting, etc. etc...

just be glad you live at a low elevation...

I ran my 02 last summer a few times.... out of probably 10 passes the best I got was a 15.327 @ 92.89 with a 2.473 60'

granted even now over a year later I still can't launch to save my life, and my local drag strip starts your time when the tree hits green - not when you move (RT that pass was 0.785, a few of mine were over 1 second).

Last night I saw just 1 S2000, looked to be a stock AP1. The only pass I saw him do was a 15.79x

wow ya elevation plays a big part in it too....92 mph trap sucks donkey ***** lol...even tho you 60' is hurting, in most cases the s2 would still be trapping 5-6 mph higher at a way better sea level

please enlighten me with what is a drag car?
NOOOOO car isnt or should i say no car can not be a drag car.

they said that about FWD cars too and look at them now?

back on topic, your times are on the slow side, i have noticed that 99% of the people i see with S's at the track murder their times off the line because they can not properly launch them.

i ran 13.7 in my AP1 with a sound system and rollbar.

these people are talking about stock S2000 and you want to compare them to tube chassis FWD cars? What these people are saying, and have been saying for a while is that the S2000 was designed for being on a circuit and hauling *** though turns and accelerating, never dropping below 60000 rpm. The lack of torque in both the 2.0 and 2.2 is something that s2000 owners need to live with unless boosted. Yes the S2000 is mildly disappointing in the 1/4 mile, has been since 99, but everything else makes up for it. Take it or leave it
