no just becuase your head is upgraded doesnt mean you have to have crazy cams. You need to have cams that fit your build and your driving.

usually its the other way around....first you think of what cams you need for the build, and then you worry about what valve train to mate up to them. If you want something with stock power, 00 ITR cams may be the best choice, or skunk2 stage 1. Those you do not need to upgrade your valvetrain and make good power over b16 and gsr cams. If you want something more aggressive, then a cam with more lift and duration is something you would need. Cams like these are the following: skunk2 stage 2, Pro1, stage 3, pro 2, etc. Other brands make similar products but i have found that skunk2 products seem to work great for an all motor regular street build.
Put it this way, if you upgrade your valve train, you dont need bigger cams, but you do need upgraded valve train if you get bigger cams....get me?
The valvetrain can go with anything, its just the cams that you have to worry about.

if i were you i would use stock retainers. titanium has a higher tolerance for heat but is less dense. ti retainers tend to flatten over time. great for race application, but not great for daily driver.
