question about 6th gen radio in 5th gen.
i was wondering if an si radio will work on a eg civic. i was not sure if it would plug right in.
sry about the dumb question.

I believe it will 'plug in', but fitment may be a concern. Us 6th gens have that curve thing going on for bezel contour, you may have to trim a little to make it a square radio. I'd like to see how this goes. :D
To put it simply, no.
Won't be plug & play. It can be made to be plug & play with two harnesses (reverse harness for the Si deck and reglular harness for the EG).
Davus is on the right track with fitment though, but not quite right.
The 96-98 Civics had that weird angle on the left side of the deck, however, the 99+ (there were no 96-98 Si's) Civics were a regular, rectangular DIN shape....
If I remember right, the face of the EG deck has rounded corners, so I don't think an Si deck will fit very well.
Not to mention physically mounting the deck is totally different.
