Default Power Steering

How much harder is it to drive without power steering? Is it worth taking out just for a cleaner bay?

Thanks

Its not bad, but if you daily drive it might get annoying. If your doing it just to clean up the engine bay don't take it out.

FYI, most ITR owners take out the ps to get a better feedback from the front wheels. With ps its sometimes hard to tell if your over turning the steering wheel when you come out of corners.

1) [insert noob bashing comment here]
2) driving with no power steering is fine
3) parking with no power steering can suck
4) DC2 ITRs do not come with K20 motors so check the RSX or Hybrid forum.
5) clean engine bay y0!

<<<standing by for "ITR owners are such ******" comments.

My K20A/DC2 ITR track car has been without power steering for a few years, now.

I am convinced that I could drive the car better with power steering.

For whatever one old guy's opinion is worth.

I would certainly not remove it "for a cleaner bay." It saves a couple of HP removing it, but the steering rack is not designed to be unpowered and the more stressful the driving is, the more the power steering makes a difference.

Yeah, pull the belt. Takes two minutes.

I didn't care for street driving with no PS. I did like the feel at speed though. For a mostly-track car, I'd take the whole system out.

Now my wagon on the other hand, no PS kicks ***. Pizza cutters + RWD = ****.

Why don't you install it back on then? PM me for the needed parts if interested.
