Default 99 Accord Dies when trying to start???

I have a 99 accord lx auotmatic. Sometimes when I go to start the car it cranks and then dies. It doesn't idle or anything it will start and die just like that. It might do it a couple of times before it stays started. Sometimes I will hold down the gas after I have cranked it and then it will stay running. Normally it only happens on start up. Does anyone have any idea what it might be. It has had new plugs, wires, airfilter in the past 6 months. The car has 191k on the odo. Thanks for any help.

Where is the fuel pump relay located? I hear a noise when I put the key in like it is priming or something like that. Thanks

Neither one of those. When you have the key running, if you jiggle the key will the car shut off then? If so you have a bad ignition switch (the electrical side). If you post your vin I can check to see if you have the recall open.

Thanks Ross 2.0 I just got off the phone with a pretty good Honda Mechanic and he said the same thing. He said that the fuel pumps seldom go bad. My vin # is JHMCG564XXC037287. Thanks for the help

I checked the recall and it has been done. Could it be another bad switch. I will try wiggling it when I get home. Are they hard to change out? Thanks

I tried wiggling the key while the car was started and it never died. How ever I barley turned it back to kill the motor and it died. I mean just a tap it back slightly and it died. Do you think it's the electrical portion of the ignition switch? Thanks for any help

My car dies again today when I was driving. I noticed that everything went off except for the radio and the green key light was blinking but no other lights were on. It also killed the blower motor and AC. Do you guys think it's still the ignition switch? Thanks for any help

It's the ignition switch. They still go bad even after the recall.
