NEED HELP! idle problem when i turn on a/c
hey guys, first off...i searched and couldn't find any results that fit what i was asking....so here it goes...
95 gsr, bought the car without a/c (previous owner removed it). within a week, i sourced someone selling their full a/c system. i bought it and the guy even installed it for me. doesn't seem to have any leaks and looks installed correctly (nothing out of the ordinary). car idles normal around 800rpm but when i turn on my a/c the idle drops to 100-200rpm, sometimes stalls...so when im driving and im in gear, if i put it in neutral the car will stall because the rpms drop.
not sure what the problem is, any ideas guys? any help is appreciated

maybe the tension on the ac belt is too tight? just a thought. cause the ac compressor is free spinning when the ac compressor clutch isn't engaged.
there is a tensioner somewhere in between the power steering pump and ac compressor pump, its a little wheel that you can adjust. This is from memory so i'm not quite sure.
thanks! if anyone could gimme more details about adjusting it...and pix would help a lot too that'd be great!
also if anyone has any other ideas...but ill try this first

ahh yes i was correct, i just looked at my service manual and it is that wheel, the tensioner bolt is behind the ac compressor wheel you can just adjust from there. The bolt head should be facing directly towards you. good luck.
