CRX won't start, switched relay
Last Saturday my car wouldnt start. The fuel pump wouldnt engage so we diagnosed it down to a bad relay. Well in the mean time i bypassed the relay and connected the fuel pump to a togle switch. This worked for two days. Then after that the car wouldn't start but the pump would come on because its connected to a toggle swtich. I'm thinking, ok, well Ill just let it sit until the new relay comes in. Well the new relay came in today and I disconnected the toggle swtich and tried cranking. With the new relay the pump comes on like it originally did but the car still won't crank. Any ideas? Ive already tried banging the started to no avail. Its like it ran perfectly and then the relay crapped out. Now I'm stuck. Any ideas on what to do?
update time:
so instead of going out and buying parts to diagnose the problem i pulled out the multimeter and did some wire tracing. well i found out that the wire going from the bulk head connector in the engine bay to the starter was ohming out well but from the back of the ignition switch to the bulk head connector wasnt. So i pulled the pin out of the bulk head connector, wrapped some speaker wire around it and touched it to the back of the ignition switch. what do ya know... it cranks! so now i have diagnosed the problem down to either a faulty wire or a bad clutch switch. unfortunately i ran out of day light so tomorrow hopefully i can have a permanent fix instead of looking like a crook cranking my rex up.
