Hooking up Auto Meter water temp gauge
Where is the best place to install the sending unit? I've searched and read where some people put it in place of the stock unit and some people have tapped into hoses. I would like to run both my stock gauge and this auto meter one. Is there a way to tee it off of the block without having to run a tap into the block? thanks
I have a device that adds two ports off the block where the upper radiator hose goes..

I think I have decided what to do. I believe the threads inside the block are bspt (please correct me if wrong) and auto meter sells a adapter from 1/8 bspt to 1/8 npt. So I will run that into the block and then a "T" off of that and screw both sending units into the "T". Shouldn't be too heavy or bulky so I don't think there is a chance of it breaking off inside the block. Let me know what you guys think and thanks again for all of the input.
Here's a link to the adapter if anyone else is interested.

That will work, just remember to put 3 wrap's of teflon tape on it and not over tighten it.
If you look around locally to one of the plumbing supply houses or commerical pump repair places, places where contractors get there pumps repaired they will have the same fitting for less money. Just takes a little digging, but there are local places that carry this stuff.
