Default Water in car?!?.... help

Ok before FAY hit Florida... I noticed there was this sticky residue down in my little tray in my LS (right in front of the shift ****) and like there was this liquid that I have no clue what is was but it was slightly sticky, and it was on my shift **** and on my arm rest...

And im thinking ya know like WTF.... anyways all during Fay and such my car sat in the garage also due to my tag is expired right now... So last night I get in my car and it smelt funky. Well I look into the floorboard on the passenger side and I can see mildew growing on the floor and some on the driver side. I dont have carpet in my car right now, in process of looking for black carpet. So I am already thrown for a loop as to how this is happening.

So I drive to the store real quick, cause I know its around the corner and close, so I dont have to worry about cops seeing my tag. Anyways as I am turning back into my sub-division I hear water moving around. Then I am thinking I was hearing the gas in the gas tank sloshing around.

Well low and behold I get out and look in my floorboard and theres water all on the driver side of the car. It had rained a little earlier, and I know my car doesnt leak, I have owned it for 3 years and there has never been a problem with the seals or anything. They arent dry rotted or anything, they are in great shape. And I have never spilt anything in my car ever cause I never drink nor eat in my car and I hardly have someone ride with me, and if someone does they dont eat or drink in my car...

So help me if you guys can for the water and or the fungus growing.... any help at all would be great.

The water isn't magicly creeping in, you have a leak somewhere. Pour water over your car while someone is inside looking for the leak.

Yea you definitely have a leak. One major suspect would be that it is coming in through the passenger side.

Aye heres one thing I forgot to add.. On the sticky mildew stuff... or the sticky liquid... When I looked at the side of the center console on both sides it look like this sticky residue ran down both sides from the middle console... coming out from underneath it...

(was trying to refrane from writing a epic novel)

But the water was on the driver side. What are the most likely areas for water leaks to happen on a LS?

The most likely place for a water leak is in the hatch. The tail light seals and the sun roof drain tubes tend to leak, but unless your trunk is full of water and it's running to the front...

There are some seals that like to dry out on DA's. Your car is probably getting to that point too. Here is a write up on how change them out on a DA, it shouldn't be too much different for your car.

Im still a noob to Integras and certain areas... but where the drain tubes be? the majority of the tube...

Is there a seal kit where you can get alot of the seals and stripping for the rear area of an integra or the whole car for that fact?

well when I get home today I am going to get my roomate to sit in the car and ill run the hose over the car and see if he cant hear trickling or see anything...

Any more advice or things I should look at lemme know guys... thanks for your help so far... Im a noob at this stuff... im just a motor guy :\

i'm not sure where it is but there used to be a big thread on integra water leaks. try searching different things for water leaks. if you get lucky you'll find it.

You have to take out the rear plastic pieces to get to the tubes. On my two door, the plastic piece went from the back edge of the front door to the back of the trunk. It's all one peice. You need to take the top of the rear seats off also.

There is a drain tube on both sides. The drivers side is harder to get to b/c the power antenna is in the way.

Service Bulletin # ASN 0297-13
FEB 1997
Some 1994-1997 integra customers may complian that there is water on the passengers floor after a drive trough car wash. To prevent it, tell them to turn the blower motor off and switch the vent control to recirculation before washing the car. With the blower motor on and the vent set to fresh air mode, water sometimes enters the blower and drips onto the floor.
