Default Going the distance with your s2k

Iam in the market for an s2000, an ap2 is in the horizon. I would greatly appreciate any input. I love to drive and get away for some weekends with my g/f and just want some feedback from owners about their personal trips they have had.

What model? How far have you driven your s2000? (miles wise of coures) Was it a comfortable ride overall? Overall aspect? Would you consider doing it agian?

Thanks in advance guys

Well drove 7hrs once and I probably wouldn't do it again. But that's just because my car is dropped pretty low. But other than that I thought it was a comfartable ride. If you plan on traveling a lot the s2000 doesn't have a lot of trunk space.

We actually dont pack much, because we only leave for 3 days at most. So thats not so much of an issue.

i have a 01 AP1, and i drive it once a month on a 4 hour drive trip and find it incredibly comfortable. of course it is going to feel a little more bumpy then a sedan or a luxury car, but personally i dislike the soggy suspension feel. since your looking at a AP2 it should help with htat though a little since it comes with softer springs. Any way i don't mind driving it long distance at all. seats don't make my legs go numb and the cup holder will hold anything you throw at it. the one thing that annoys me is i don't have a hard top yet so i get a lot of wind noise that would probably be mostly solved by new strikers but even more by a hard top. other thing to consider though is if you have a passenger there is no second cup holder(solved by bottled drinks) and only 1 vent, but hey all they are is ballast anyway hehe.

that's my thoughts =^-^=

Thanks guy for the inputs.

I just want an idea over all. I drove my friends ap1 for about 2 hours, and hated it only because of the loud skunk 2 exhuast rambling behind me. Other than that it was awesome. Yet agian i only drove it for 2 hours max.

7 hrs. Chicago, Il. To Nashville, Tenn. Both ways. No problems. Ride was smooth as the road is. My gf fell asleep a couple times. So it not bad at all.

just try to sit in one before you buy, it's not so much being small but the lack of lumbar support for bigger folks. I have back problems and I just have to walk out of the s every hour to take a break. oh yeah, don't put a 12k coilover on it would help also

How tall are you, if you dont mind me asking? Iam just shy of 6ft, 168lbs. So width wise I should be fine.

I am 6'0 165 and fit perfect.

My buddy is a hair or 2 taller than me and just cracked 200. He has a tight fit getting in/out but is fine once he is in.

Good car, just not a fan of long distances in it.

Drove it 4 hours back when I bought it, and it was rough on my kidneys..lol.

Yeah so we have similar body figure. Like i said my buddys car had a super duper loud skunk2 exhuast, I mean you couldnt even hear the damn radio. Once getting off the car, my head was aching man.

Other than that I was very pleased with the car.

5' 10" 160lb, it's not the height but the lack of back support of the seat

I was driving 160 miles 5 days a week, Oceanside to Carson, and the car is plenty comfortable for me.

Drove Chicago to Nashville (7hrs or so) and it was great. Stock '07 S, so I don't have to worry about exhaust noise or about being low

Overall, its just a great car to drive. Especially with the top down

I felt pretty good. Only thing that bothered me was the heat. I had the top up all the way there and back. Cant wait to do it again next year!

my bro has a hardtop 00 s2k it's not bad at all. Only thing i didn't like is the lack of interior room. For example I couldn't sleep for **** in the passenger seat I'm 5'11". Most of the problem is the fact the seats don't recline for ****. Your woman might not like that. Nor will she have room for all the **** she'll prob want to bring with her in the interior of the car.

We barely had enough room for our trip to Nashville and it was only a 3 day trip!!!

My girl is small so she doesnt mind one bit falling asleep in the car

Put it this way i am 6ft 3in and it annoys me that i cant even recline my seat due to it being all the way back for leg space. but if your average height you may be ok. Long distance trips would prob send me to the chiropractor
