Default S2000 clutch

I just bought an 04 s2000 with 24k miles on it. My dad has an 04 s2000 with 24k on it as well. I drove that all summer and it was great! Finally bought one of my own...only thing is, the clutch feels a little different. It seems to engage further up (clutch pedal travel). When engaging a new gear at high rpm's it seems to slip a little. I'm at little worried that the clutch maybe going bad. How long does a stock clutch normally last? And how long under hard driving? Also...What after market clutches you guys like??
Thanks to any and all input!

Yes, you are slipping the clutch, but this is perfectly normal for a manual car when positioning a car at low speed. As others have said dropping the clutch at high revs is much more damaging.

Many years ago when learning to drive, my instructor and parents were much more concerned about riding the clutch...resting the left hand foot on the clutch pedal while driving at normal speeds. Much more damaging if done over a long period of time.

definitely sounds like you have a worn clutch.
clutch life depends on the how the driver use the car, it can last between 30k to 100k+.
i got my car used and the clutch was done at 65k.

like reddot said it might be cause of the delay valve. Do a test to see if its really slipping. Put the e brake up then engage 3 gear and start letting out the clutch and giving a oil gas if the rpms go down and the car wants to stall then ur clutch is ok if not then ur clutch is most likely beat. Don't forget to check ur fluid and try bleeding the system.
