I'm trading my 35 Chevy dwarf car for the 05 Honda Rancher and the guy doesn't seem to remember if he got a title or certificate of ownership. He said for his two dirt bikes he never got one. The guy came by yesterday with the ATV to check out my car and he's ready to trade. I was thinking about calling a local Honda dealership as well to see if they can give me any other info I should know.

Can someone let me know if I need a title? Is this is a shady deal like it sounds?
Is there a serial/vin number I can run on it?

out of the some odd 10 quads and 8 dirtbikes I have owned, I have only had the title for one bike.

 

Its a 2005 and they already lost the title? How is going to prove that its his? If he paid for it, he should have the title. How will you prove that it yours? I'd pass.

Damn, got burned on the old fifty bucks more for the title bit more than once?

Just joking I remember a kid in high school who had his dirt bike taken by the cops, riding somewhere he shouldn't and with no way to prove it was his had it towed and couldn't get it back. I miss the cracker hood, people out neighborhood MXing.
