help!!!! i pretty much want the best bang for the buck. im thinkin that the race etd would be the best as far as engine movement and not having my exhaust hanger bent again(as seen in the pic thread) but what about the comfort?? im torn between the 2

stiffy for less vibration, but if u want the bang, go with the power stick. The vibration is gonna be horrible tho.

do NOT get the powerstick.

they make two for the exact reasons they say...

the same reason manufacturers make different types of mounts, different suspension springs, different seats, etc...

one is for high hp apps where there really is an engine movement issue during throttling...an issue where comfort and practicality have to be pushed aside for performance because the power is just way over what the mount points were meant to handle.

one is to compliment your existing mounts with an adjustable damper, so you can decide on the amount of stiffness you need.

you will find you won't even come close to the max setting on the stiffy....

stiffy ftw. great product.

^^good analogy. i see what your saying and yea it makes sense. i bet the stiffest setting on the stiffy is equivalent to the powerstick??

Exactly how BIG of a performance difference will the "Stiffy" make in terms of off-the-line performance on lightly modded cars?? Is it something that should only be purchased in conjunction with...say....a supercharger/turbo. Or is it a product that will actually serve a respectable cause in stock/lightly modded cars as well.

hmm, good question. i don't know for sure, piece vs. piece, but i do know that the upper end of the stiffness spectrum for the stiffy is pretty dang tight, so i can't imagine running the powerstick!

the difference will be akin to stiffer mounts, but without the discomfort. on linkage actuated transmission cars, like 6th gen and below, it's benefit is two-fold: of course it helps with wheel hop, and it really makes an improvement with the shifting directness...it's hard to quantify, but it's noticeable. for cable actuated trans cars like these latest gens, i'd say the brunt of the improvement is probably with wheel hop situations.

but, think the actual improvement depends on how prone the FWD car is to wheel hop when launching with your level of mods (if any). i have a stock si, that i have never raced, so i can't report on how these cars behave when launching with any type of aggression. honda provides us with a pretty nice lsd and pretty marginal tires, but i've been ok since i don't drive hard at all in it because it's primarily my wife's car.

do these things (8th gen Si's) wheel hop alot with light mods, or even stock but with a quality properly adjusted suspension?
