Ok so on my b18 the downpipe section that has 2 bolts which mates to the cat is parallel to the road. by that i mean the bolt holes themselves are parallel to the ground. On the stock exhaust for my hatch, the catalytic converters two bolt holes are not parallel to the ground. So the holes to put them together don't even begin to line up right.

now i know i can get this, which would fix my problem. but i was hoping there was another way. or perhaps a cheaper version of this particular item. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

There isnt really a cheaper method then that unless you cut the down pipe and twist it to fit.

 

I have the same problem with my b18 EF. It'll be cheaper to cut the header and have it welded back on, so it'll bolt up to the exhaust. That's what im doing..

 

I was lucky and had an aftermarket cat on my car. I could unclamp it and spin the cat.

 

hmmm. no such luck for me. i purchased the blox test pipe earlier today so i can just be done with it.
