Default 200 HP with low $$

i have a D16y8 engine in my 96 civic and i wanna make it go up to ATLEAST 200 HP. if not then anything over 160.

BUT the thing is i dont wanna spend much dough.
and yes i know a swap.
but not till i get a better job.
i heard that new rods, bolts, pistons and a turbo will easily make hit 200hp
(https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2373956)

but like always the turbo is till later.
how much HP will i get if i just change the rods, bolts and pistons?

none, unless the rods, bolts and pistons raise your compression. a turbo alone will easily hit 200hp. and a tune.

actually my friend was hitting 230 on his civic non-vtec.

What he had: Bearings, Good head gasket and fuel pump ( walbro 255 ) All u need after u get that is a good tune and a nice turbo kit. That's it u'll be hitting 200hp like nothing man.

200hp isnt too hard with a turbo y8 but you'll pry spend close to 2k piecing together a kit and getting it tuned.

just get a hf mani with a 14b or better a 16g and a good tune and 200 whp on a stock sohc is a cakewalk nothing expensive, the tune is the key. go to turbod16.com everything you will need to know is there. be fifteen to 2k at the most with the tune

I hope "low $$" is just a relative term. Don't cheap out on engine parts, especially turbo stuff. If you're on a budget now, you're gonna be way up **** creek when you blow your engine with a cheap turbo setup :/
