Default Power antenna not going down...

Is there a "how to repair a power antenna" on a 95 GSR sedan? The motor is winding when I switch from Radio to CD and vice versa. So I know at least it is trying to work but not quite..

help?

Why did you make a ton of threads?

But your antenna shaft is probably broken or rusted in place. best bet is to just get a new one or a working used one from another member here.

the antenna runs on a string gear, the same concept as those old school talking ninja turtles action figures. It could have snapped in half, best fix is to replace the whole antenna unit with a working one. _/\_/\_/\_/\_/\_ looks something similar to that, but imagine it being like 3 feet long.

I had this same problem with my antenna and when I removed all the interior panels I notice that a cable was hanging out loose and try finding where it goes but didn't find anything so my question is where does this cable goes connected to? I can post a pic if needed.

I actually just unplugged the motor in my integra and left it up for a while. There is also an S2000 antenna conversion available which looks sleek...

Just to update..I still have the problem. I called my LocalAcura dealer and said the entire part is about 200..no thanks. I looked on craigslist and a there is are mods for an antenna that you can unscrew the mast. That leads me to believe that it is not for a power antenna. I called and confirmed it. It is indeed for nonpower antennas. He said it as 20 bucks plus the cost to buy the changeover to nonpower antenna mount.

again no thank. Geez I hate looking for used parts.

You can replace just the whip. I would get the dealer version if that is your plan. I used an aftermarket one and that whip corroded.

I don't mind it. If I saw a DB8 or DB7 with that conversion..a picture of it. I might consider it.

Mine had the same problem. I unplugged the power to the antenna motor so it wouldn't run anymore, then set the antenna to about 14" high. Looks much better than the 10' tall whip and still gets fine reception.

I tried to see if I could repair it but the teeth of the cable that winds up in the motor is shot. I have no idea how to even repair it if I can't see how it is suppsed to look like.

Local Acura dealer rep had no idea either but was so willing to let me pay for it to get done..
