Anyone ever remove the IAT block-off plate on an OBD2B B16 manifold?

I have a 2000 Si intake manifold laying around. Curious to see if the IAT mounting location can be used on the OBD2 manifold by removing the block-off plate which is welded. Anyone ever remove the welded plate to see what's under there and how did you remove it without damaging the orifice surface? Figured i'd ask before executing.
Thanks

I left out that i've been tuning with an obd1 ecu. I already have a bunch of OBD1 manifolds, and i have one on my car, but it uses the wide bolt OBD1 IAC. I would like to use the original obd2 IAC that came with the car, and use the IAT in the runner for the OBD1 ecu.
It would only be beneficial and ideal to run the IAT in the intake arm if you use an OBD2B ecu. Since i'm using an OBD1 ecu, the IAT is optimal in the intake runner, not the intake arm. The Compensation tables in the ROM base are configured this way. thanks for the reply.
