2001 ITR B18C5 USDM swap for sale Fresno/Clovis
***********UPDATE***********
Got the car certified with CHP! It took having an CHP Commander as a customer/neighbor, but it's done. I have no need to sell the swap now. I am considering building another built/turbo motor though, so I still may sell it, dunno. But thanks for looking.
Currently in my 1997 ITR. Came with my R. Has 10-15k miles on it. Runs excellent. $3500.
Located in Clovis CA. (next to Fresno)
I originally made this post about a month ago, but was crazy busy at work(I own a stereo shop) getting ready for my vacation in Hawaii. (not complaining)
Long story short...........
I bought the car from a friend (RYAN AUTRY)that bought it here on H-T a few years ago. It is a theft salvage. It was NEVER put into anyones name until I bought it last year. Before I bought it, it had been sitting since 2002 or so, except for a few mountain drives that it took when it was my friends(and not registered). I haven't driven much at all, I live 2.5 miles from my shop. It went to Buttonwillow raceway once this summer.
So, the problem is the CHP won't let me finish registering the car because the engine came from a salvage car that the title was never scrapped with the DMV. I have a bill of sale for the engine, the CHP says it's clean. I could put it in a hatch, go BAR it at the ref, and he wouldn't care, it's just THIS CHP officer and my salvage car. Really sucks. I have a call in to the CHP to investigate if this is the way it has to be, or if it's just one officer picking on me.
Soooooo, now I am selling my low mileage motor for a loss, to buy a JDM used engine to finish my registration so I can drive my car..........headache.
I plan on buying a complete swap from HMO, so it will come with everything the replacement motor comes with...(taken from HMO)...........
Motor
- LSD Hydraulic Tranny (S80)
- ECU (P73)
- Axles with Half Shaft
- Shift Linkage
- Stock Motor Mounts *
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Engine Harness
- Comes With All Sensors Needed
It is in my car, although not driving it due to no tags. I am probably going to go buy the HMO swap within a week to two, depending on work/spare time. Then I will install it and the motor will not be in a running condition to drive/check out. Anyways, thanks for looking.

Bump for an R owner
I know that feeling as I'm currently undergoing the same process with my build. Its a headache and once you are "assigned" to that particular officer, you have no other choice but to complete the whole transaction with him/her.
