what intake should i get........
they are alll pretty much the same out of those brands. How much better can another company make a tube with a filter on it then another company, really?
but between a short ram and cold air, get the cold air.

its all good. but the reason being is that the aem changes the velocity of the air before the maf sensor, so therefore you throw a cel. the injen changes the velocity after the maf sensor so the maf sensor is reading the correct air velocity, but in reality the velocity changes after the maf sensor. i believe that the piping diameters are the reason behind this.

any real info to back up this statement? MAF reads air velocity now, eh?

got pics of those "veins" ?
it measures air flow. obviously velocity of air, as well as temperature and how dense the air is. the 2nd o2 sensor reads the exhaust flow. if the 2 arent reading the same, it throws a cel.

Ok. let's break it down. Easy to find definitions here.
Mass: "Mass is a fundamental concept in physics, roughly corresponding to the intuitive idea of how much matter there is in an object." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass
Velocity: "In physics, velocity is defined as the rate of change of position. It is a vector physical quantity; both speed and direction are required to define it." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velocity
Mass Airflow Sensor: "mass airflow sensor is used to find out the mass of air entering a fuel-injected engine. The air mass information is necessary for the engine control unit (ECU) to balance and deliver the correct fuel mass to the engine" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_flow_sensor
Oxygen Sensor: "An oxygen sensor, or lambda sensor, is an electronic device that measures the proportion of oxygen (O2) in the gas or liquid being analyzed." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_sensor
MAF don't measure velocity.
O2 sensors don't measure flow.
Both sensors can't have the same reading, like you suggested, because they don't measure the same things.

hmmm
tricky tricky LOL
injen's intake doesnt throw the CEL b/c they adjusted the piping diameter right around the MAF so that it wouldn't throw the CEL. there is ONE VERY knowledgeable person on this forum, wont give his name out, who knows everything there is to know about injen's intakes...i think he has posted in our forum once or twice.
