Default Reasonably priced 500-550whp capable clutch?

I've read some concern regarding ACT and their clutches/PP with respect to crank and bearings. So with that said, what recommendations do you all have for a solid 500-550whp clutch that is street friendly with the occaissional drags here and there (couple times a year).

It's for an AP2.

Thanks in advance.

My buddy has a comp stg 4 on his S has low 400whp~ though he likes it very street friendly. I have the same on my hatch holds 350wtq fine daily driven too.

Well, I had a 4puck sprung ACT on my 450whp civic and it was great..really liked it..

I was curious what the options are for these cars....

I have always liked ACT. While I don't have any direct experience with one in my S2000 (yet), I will be running their Extreme pressure plate w/ most likely a sprung 4 puck disc in my FR powered AP2 this coming spring.

Clutches are rated by tq....but im sure u knew that. I think its worth it to go for a twin disc so when you decide to make more power you wont have to buy a new clutch.

I did. I doubt I'll be doing more than 550 on a stock setup. The next step would be sleeves, and the motor comes out for that..so changing the clutch wouldn't be a big deal then..lol.

Looking for something cost effective.

it's a clutch man, spec/act/exedy are all fine with lots of different levels.
you need 500whp, so pick the one that holds 500whp. not really tricky.

are you ever going to see a track, or race? or is this a hard parker ?

Negative, a clutch is not a clutch. Pedal feel, pressure plates, chatter/etc are all factors I am not going to get if I just find one that holds 500whp, thus the reason I asked.

Curious what everyone in the boosted world was using..

i cant imagine that you could put 500 whp down with these cars anyways...would it loose traction through the first 3 gears?

The J's Racing N/A is a tad over 300WHP.

They put power down very well. With the tires that i have (toyo r888) there is no lose of traction from a dig. ul break before it grabs

Sorry, I think your friend is BS'in you. No way he makes that kinda power NA. Spoon does not make titanium axles either. What is a "spoon housing" and "7 exedy triangles"?
