The FPR hose getting smashed
Hi guys,
So what would the effect of your FPR hose getting completly smashed/blocked off/kinked at idle.
So the question is what effect would that have your emissions being tested at that time?

The engine will run rich as the result. The fpr has an internal spring which pushes against a diaphragm to limit the fuel being returned to the tank. The presence of vacuum during idle or moderate throttle pulls the diaphram away, reducing the fuel rail pressure. That's the reason you have two fuel pressure readings. One with vacuum, and one without. If the vacuum line is pinched, that means no vacuum to the fpr.

It's also possible there's no effect. It only takes a little vacuum to make the FPR adjust fuel pressure (not a constant stream of air, just enough to equalize the FPR). Also your car running closed loop and monitoring the O2 sensor will help.
I would guess throttle reponse would be a bigger issue.
