Default Mini project with the R...

So, I was itching to do something to the R, but didn't want to spend to much money because of saving for some forced induction. So, I decided I would gut my trunk, paint it up all pretty, and add some bracing!

Removed about 15 lbs. of dynamat from the previous owner who had a sound system in the back. Getting rid of that was a pain! Got some gunmetal paint that matched the stock ITR rims. Applied 3 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint, and 3 layers of clear coat to add some extra shine! Overall, turned out pretty nice!

Anyone else done something similar, I searched this before I did it and got no results. Discuss or show off your own if you'd like!

That's an interesting rear strut tower bar. Who makes it?

I know I am going to get flamed for it, but that is a Weapon R Rear cross brace...

I never saw one made by any other company like that and I liked it, so whatever. I don't have any other parts by them on my car other than that!

Would you be interested in renting your hatch compartment for birthday parties?

I would love to put some sort of bracing like that in the rear of my R, but then it would render that space useless for carrying my surfboard.....

Another shot I found from the WRevolution carshow in Harrisburg. Didn't take the pic, but turned out pretty sweet!

I used to throw my surfboard on top of the R with the removable surf board tie downs. Looked hot to see an R rolling clean with a board on top

Yeah man! Hard turns are so tight now and I'm sure the lost weight is good too! I think I shaved about 50 lbs off with the dynamat, tire, and other trunk junk!

How does that TDM Cross bar attach to the strut? Does it bolt on to the ends of the rear strut bar or does it go directly to the strut? Wondering if I could get one of those and attach it to the ones I already have in there to go up to the c-pillar. Make two x's in the back...

How about a full Yakima system? I was able to put three 6'8" with no fins in the box.

Going to be doing the same shortly... after the 6 pt goes in the car. Will be paint matching to the exterior of mine... so FBP.

But it has been done before by Jeremy on his old black JDM front ITR. Looks good, IMO.
