What does resetting ECU clear?

What does resetting ECU clear?
I've been told that resetting the ecu on hondas will only clear certain error messages. Others will remain in the system. Can somebody elaborate on what kinds of messages will not be erased by simply resetting the ecu, and any known ways of completely clearing the message log? Any help would be appreciated.

It will clear error messages if present and secondary variables. Read http://www.hondata.com
