Default Easy exhaust question (hopefully)

Ok I need a new partial exhaust for my 92 civic hatch. It leaking at the resonator and I can't have that for inspection, so i have to go from the down pipe.

My current set up = header > cat > down pipe > straight pipe

I need to go from the downpipe back

I need a new one and I need to know if a catback for a normal civic hatch will work because I have that current set up. I can see the end of the downpipe where it connects to the straight pipe (bolt on) just by looking in the engine bay behind the motor if that helps.

im not sure what a down pipe is, but if you have an exhaust leak, schucks and stuff have this pasty stuff thats for fixing exhaust leaks. thats an easier solution, I used it and it worked well for me.

Don't use that cheap ****............The down pipe aka test pipe....is the Pipe going down from the exhaust manifold aka header to the catalytic converter..... My suggestion would be to find a small shop around your area and see if they can weld the exhaust to where is doesn't leak or get them to custom fab a new exhast.

There wouldn't really be a point of a test pipe if it just runs to your cat..... It works and it's a quick fix. I think it needs like 24 hours to fully dry up though, I had a kinda big hole, so I just put alot on it, let it dry, then put some more on it when i had the chance to seal it all up. Most exhaust shops would probably, cut out the section with the leak, and weld on a new little pipe. shouldnt cost more than 40 bucks. around here anyways.

Ok with no down pipe you would be running an open header/exhaust manifold which is highly illegal........ The putty stuff doesn't last very long and it's just another reason for people to call Honda owners "ricers". Why not do something the right way the first time?
