Call up any of our Expo sponsors and they should be able to take good care of you. Ex: VPR Motorsports, send a PM to member "97 TYPE-R 312"

I always check with our Expo sponsors first before buying my products. Reason? they support our community and thus I want to support them. I personally had a negative experience with Evasive and and choose not to do business with them. Also, they are in CA which increases shipping times.

Quick release steering wheel with OEM airbag steering wheel? Unpossible.

Make sure that when you call for your ITR insurance quote (16 year old first car for those who haven't been following) that you tell them you'll be removing the OEM wheel and airbag and replacing with an aftermarket wheel with no airbag.

lol. This just keeps getting better.

For those that have not been following. This guy thinks he is mature when every chance he gets to say **** to me he does.
Just help man...i know that you dont want me to get a ITR and truthfully the way you say it...you're the last person i would listen to.
This thread is closed i ruled out the quick release because of safety reasons.

^^ Simmer down. Calling out a senior member who has been doing this since you where 8 years old isnt going to get you anywhere. He gave you good advice that you took the wrong way. It would be best for you to let it go.

If I had to do it over again, I'd have gone with the sparco hub. As much as I tried with the NRG quick release, in the end I lost use of my horn.

People are rattling your chain because you're 16 and you think you have all of the answers. We were all 16 once and we know exactly what goes through the mind of someone at that age. Yeah, you're different you say. Blah blah blah...heard it a million times. Every 16 year old with a fast car is very similar, period.

Common sense should tell you that by removing the steering wheel airbag, you're gambling your life even further. And at 16, you still have many years left, even though you seem to be trying your best at making them as short as possible.

This alone sends the message that you aren't ready for what you want. Be careful of what you ask for...

Whether or not it's possible, I do not think it's a good idea to modify an OEM SRS system.

Todd is trying to make you a better member. That is all. We all made stupid posts/asked stupid questions when we got into things. Just helping you learn faster. Im proud that you searched this time however maybe next time extend your search to "archived content" and "search post bodies". I find it hard to believe this hasnt been covered before.

If you plan on tracking the car, quick release hubs just dont settle well for me. I have seen videos of them popping off, i dont know how common that is but still, its shakey. But it will impress the fanbois at HIN if thats matters to you.

I will say that when I was looking into detachable steering wheels and keeping the horn etc, which the OP didn't even mention, there were 2 VERY good posts with pictures on how to install AND take off the OEM SRS wheel without blowing yourself up with the airbag haha.

Its a 3-4 hour job if you plan on keeping your own, but as far as installing the quick release once your stock wheel is off, its idiot proof....
