clutch suggestions...
identical to OEM. the stage 1 is different and has a slightly harder pedal. if you just have a fairly stock car with bolt ons the exedy OE replacement is perfect.
my gsr is stock but i want a harder pedal clutch. right now i have the oem and i dont like how it grabs, and its too soft.
question: if i upgrade to a stage 1 with no modifications, will i gain a bit of torque?

also.. will replacing my clutch make that whirring sound go away? every time i let go of the clutch, my tranny makes an annoying whirring sound. i did a bit of reading and alot say its because of the throwout bearing. the sound got alot louder than it use to be 6 months ago. my clutch is only 1 year old. if i drive like this for another year, will anything bad happen?

Do a google search or "how stuff works" for torque.
Installing an aftermarket clutch won't give your car more torque, but depending on the clutch kit, it may grab har or engage faster than stock, giving you the false impression that your car has gained power and is now faster.
Having a heavier pedal doesn't also mean your car will be faster. I currently have an Action Clutch clutch kit, pedal feels almost like stock, using the 6 puck disc, I have a mild build gsr with bolt on, cams, etc. and the clutch feels nice in the city and grabs nice also. You don't need a heavy pedal that is overkill for a NA build.

this is exactly what i was trying to find out...i dont mind going six puck if its going to be identical to the oem feel (not hard). what makes the six puck clutches better?
btw, its going on a stock jdm itr engine.

the exedy stage 1 is along the lines of what you want. a harder grab, more torque capacity, harder pressure plate. i'm using one myself. still easy to drive in traffic but harder hitting than the OE unit.
think about what you're asking....whurr sound? like anyone knows what "whurr" is.
It's like some of these posts " my car makes this noise like vroom- woosh, what is that? then it goes whurr, clink, help me fix it"

Whurring sound is most likely your throw out bearing. That should be included with your clutch kit, and don't forget to lobe the clutch fork where the slave cylinder pushes on the clutch fork.
