i agree i had this same problem when i first got on and realized that everyone had photobucket accounts but yes that is the answer to this problem

Host your photos at one of the sites suggested above, then take the URL from the hosted picture, and post it in between [ img] [ /img] tags (without spaces), like this:
[img] http://www.somephotoplace.com/tehphoto.jpg [/img] (again, without spaces)
[img] http://www.somephotoplace.com/tehphoto.jpg [/img] (again, without spaces)
