My idea for my EK hatch.
I'm aquiring an EK hatch soon from my local paint guy.
He's painting it flat black, not like shitty primer type but an actual flat black
hot rod style I guess you could say. I was think of putting a red and whit pin stripe down the side with some black wheels w/ red lip. Whaddya think?

it definatly seems like u should be building a rat rod not a honda.
pin striping doesnt belong on honda ive seen very few that can actually pull it off and those were show cars that have had 10's of thousands of dollars put in to them....and if u did do pin striping red and white i dont think would look good at all...keep both stripes the same color and i think gold or gloss black or even a grey color would look much better....
just my opinion...

Rat rodding a Civic is definitely different, but I don't think it would look too good on a newer style body. There's a reason they pinstripe old cars and not newer ones, it just looks better on the older ones since they have the nice long body lines.

i wouldnt go that far but I think what Gabe is trying to say is that the thought has come up before. There is a few cars that have done it and I think it looks pretty cool. BUt bottom line is do it. its your idea and you should try it regardless of what people say, if you dont like it just repaint it hahahaha.

I kid you not, I had the same idea for my Integra. Flat black with hot rod style red & white pin stripe. I even thought of finding white walls but that's just going alittle too far. I wanted to do an homage to the hot rods of yesteryear.
If done correctly (i.e. professionally), it would look great. Too many people are scared to take chances with these cars - they rather follow a formula and play it safe. But if you think it'll look good, then just go all out and do it. It's been said before but it really is true: if you think it looks good then who cares what other's think?
Besides, except for a handful of enthusiasts on this forum, the praise of HT doesnt hold much weight.
Good luck on your project.

use some wire wheels with white walls out, staggered.
slam it, real low.
Try to keep lots of chrome. Get designs pinstriped on the hood and maybe stripes going down the side and some crazy design at the end.
