Changing EF fuel filter
I know the fuel filter is located on the firewall and i just had a few questions about replacing it.
Is it a pressurized system when the car is off? And is it more complicated than unbolting the old one and putting the new one up and re-attaching the hoses, or am i overthinking it?

When I changed the one in my 89 crx I simply took the gas cap off to relieve pressure, then removed the lines to it, ubolt the bracket holding it in place, bolt up the new fuel filter, attach the lines.
Also, to make sure there aren't any leaks turn your key to the last click before it starts the car so fuel starts flowing and check the filter out to see if it's leaking anywhere.

here's how i did it:
1. open the fuel cap.
2. loosen the service bolt to de-pressurize line.
3. unbolt old filter and replace with new one torquing all bolts to spec.
use new washers... your fuel filter should come with them.

Im pretty sure the system isnt under pressure after you take the fuel cap off. Thats all i did on my dc before changing the filter. There will be some fuel left in the lines but should just drain out rather than spray out.Its a pretty straight forward procedure.Main thing is just be prepared to catch/ soak up the gas that will run out.
when replacing the washers.. can you use any copper/ aluminum washers that will fit?
I was reading that the copper ones are better.. and that they are supposed to be 'crush washers'.. can you find these at any hardware store?
thanks guys

"Crush" washers is just a term for a washer used to seal a fluid using a bolt, etc..
They "crush" because it is a soft metal(brass or alum.).
They should come with a new filter. I have never seen them not come with it. Even from Honda.
