Default DX/DPFI techie needed

have a missfire on the #3, changed the plugs, cap, and rotor; as well as the spark plug seals. wire is good, checked for spark. after fixing all this car sounds like it's running great, but it still has the miss...the assumption we are going with is something with the fuel system. anyone have any ideas? when we pulled the plugs 1,2,3 where dripping oil and #4 was WAY white. not familiar with the dpfi setup, help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

check to see if the injector wire is loose or if the injctor resistor box is shot. thats all i can think of, if u changed all those things fuel has to be the problem
but as for the plugs drippn oil, u need to get the spark plug gaskets that fit in the spark plug hole on the valve cover...had the same problem....the white on da spark plug means its runing rich i beleive? nt sure correct me on that

dx's don't have resistor boxes, already replaced those seals, and white means it running lean, and with as white as it was it hella lean

well, the dpfi system is really simple. i'm sure you know all this but lets walk through it. there are 2 injectors one runs comstantly and the other comes on under load. it is possible that the injector is missing the signal to fire for that cylinder i guess. have you tried swapping parts out. like the ecu or distibutor if you have spares. it seems like the ecu and the distributorwork together to tell when the cylinder is ready for fuel and when to fire. is the motor still healthy? you know, good compression, etc. just my thoughts. also when does the miss happen? all the time or under certain conditions? (although i'm guessing all the time). i hope i can help.

the miss happens all the time, however i don't understand how it could miss the signal to send fuel...if it where mpfi i could understand why only 1 cylinder was running lean, but not with dpfi. unfortunately i don't have a spare ecu or dizzy, i'll have to check compression this weekend, still expanding the tool collection

You said number 1,2, and 3 spark plugs had OIL on them? That doesn't sound good. Does it burn oil?

yes, i was told it did burn oil, haven't really noticed it myself though as i changed a lot out already

replaced the fuel injectors today, still same problem, pull wire from #3 and nothing, 1,2,4 all sputter like they are supposed to???

Check the compression..
It sounds like the engine is worn out..

If the oil is coming from inside the combustion chamber
and fouling the plug, then that is the most likely answer..
