Default Viper 5701

Hey im in the market looking for a new alarm for my Si. I work at best buy and my installers told me about this new alarm coming out from directed electronics. I know it has a 2-way remote with remote start and all of these other cool features. Now all i want to know is if anyone here actually has this on their car? or can anyone give me their experience on this alarm? thank you!

It's been out for a while. I've done two of them. I don't really like it. It's overly complicated IMO. The only reason you'd want to use it is if you have a manual transmission. Basically it forces you to leave the car running when you park the car and get out. Then when you arm the alarm it shuts down the engine and will allow a remote start.

That being said, it's not a bad product. It's like a 791/5900 hyped up on steroids.

thanks for the reply.

yeah the remote start isnt a deal breaker for me. the thing that interested me the most is the skinny remote design and how you can keep the alarm on silence but still have the remote page you.

also is the range pretty far? and does it go through buildings?

Great alarm. Just sometimes it has remote start issues. Range is great thou and all the new features.

^^^^^ If a theif was able to get to your alarm brain you need to rethink your install. What model system did you have?

Op, best buy has had that alarm for 6-8months now.

It is a good alarm, and I'm not sure how anyone could call it overly complicated.

I put one in my eclipse, and am in the middle of putting one in my audi.
