Default DONE...FINISHED TODAY...LETTERS POLISHED...Do I sand off the vtec letters or leave them painted on m

Well I finished it up today. Overall I am pretty happy with the results. If I were to do it again I would do things a little differently. Overall my satisfaction level is 7/10.

Do I sand off the vtec letters or leave them painted...

I am pretty happy with what I see so far. I am baking it again for another 30 to 45 min. Going to do another layer of clear on the spark plug cover tomorrow. Don't know weather to sand off the vtec or leave them painted.

I used VHT Wrinkle paint on the cover...went through a whole can on it.

I used graphite wheel paint on the spark plug cover. I am going to paint my wheels and the strut bar and intake tube the same color I believe. Kind of tie everything together that way.

should of put some petroleum product on the letters so the paint would not stick to it.

WRONG you should sand it carefully. petroleum will just cause the paint that is close to the letters to fisheye. looks good so far man just get some 240 grit, then go up to 400, 600.you may want to use a sanding block so you only get the high spots(letters) after that, when the paint has had time to cure, polish the sanded areas with some aluminum polish.

couldnt u have just taped off the letters? lol. looks good though
if ur gonna sand it, sand the sides of the raised letters too.. otherwise just leave it or sand the letters down and paint it black

I say tape it off and then paint the DOHC & VTEC the same color as the spark plug cover.

im a fan of the polished VCs but you'll have carpel tunnel by the time your finished...i actually just saw a tenzo valve cover that just said DOHC no vtec which i thought was pretty cool...thats my next investment

Looks good, neat finish. I would probably leave it as is, just to be different. Ultimately the choice is up to you man, goodluck with it.
